SCHOOL PROJECT SET MINESHAFT HEADGEAR COMPLETE KIT

INSTRUCTIONS-BUILD THE MINESHAFT
HEADGEAR SCHOOL PROJECT

STEP 1 – Place and glue 4 x 15cm STICKS
INTO HOLES ON BASE BOARD.

STEP 2 Place and glue base pulley into
slots on the base board.

STEP 3-Mount U-shape cut out on top of
sticks.

STEP 4-Glue 20 x 8cm rounded sticks in a
triangulated X form and glue X shapes
onto the tower structure. (front facing = 1
X shape, sides and back 3 X shapes).
NB: Use the same distance of the tower
sticks to get an accurate angle of the X
shape.
STEP 5 – Prepare and glue big and small
pulley, crank and cradle using given parts

STEP 6-Insert the 5.5 cm stick inside the
small pulley and insert through the cradle.
Glue the big and small circles on the sides
of the cradle and thereafter glue the
crank.

STEP 7 – Insert the 5cm stick inside the big
pulley. Glue the stick 2 cm from the edge.
Attach and glue crank to the small pulley
and string to the small pulley and run it
over the big pulley mounted on the shaft

STEP 8 – Thread the string though the hole
on the cradle and attach to the cradle by
making a knot to ensure the cradle is
secure.

STEP 9-Test the dip of the cradle and
attach the string hanging from the big
pulley to the small pulley.

STEP 10 – Test the mineshaft head gear by
winding the crank to see if lift goes up and
down.
