AUTOMATIC PLANT WATERING KIT WITH SOIL MOISTURE SENSOR
This is an automatic smart plant watering system DIY kit.
- The kit includes a soil moisture sensor to detect when the soil is dry.
- A water pump is activated to irrigate plants automatically when needed.
- It is an excellent choice for beginners to explore programming, electronics, and automation.
- Components include a relay module, soil moisture probe, small pump, battery box, tubing, and jumper wires.
- Mini Submersible Water Pump: Used to draw and dispense water.
- Soil Moisture Sensor: Consists of a probe (the “fork” part) and a comparison module, which detects the soil’s moisture level.
- 5V Relay Module: An electronic switch that controls when the high-current water pump turns on and off based on signals from the sensor/microcontroller.
- Water Tubing: A clear vinyl or silicone hose to direct the water from a reservoir to the plant.
- Battery Holder: A black plastic case (often for 4xAA batteries, as seen) to power the system when an external power source isn’t used.
- Jumper Wires: Wires (Dupont cables) for making connections between the different modules and a microcontroller.
- USB Power Cable: An alternative power option, allowing the system to be run from a USB power bank or adapter.
