Description
Product Description
Keep your plants thriving with the 5V Soil Moisture Sensor Module. This high-sensitivity hygrometer is the perfect tool for automated gardening, DIY irrigation systems, and educational STEM kits. By measuring the volumetric water content in the soil through electrical resistance, this sensor provides real-time feedback on your plant’s hydration needs.
The kit features a dual-output design: a Digital Output (DO) for simple threshold-based switching (like turning on a pump when soil is dry) and an Analog Output (AO) for precise moisture level readings. With an onboard potentiometer for sensitivity adjustment and corrosion-resistant nickel plating on the probe, this module is built for both accuracy and longevity in various soil environments.
Key Features
-
Dual Output Modes: Supports both Digital (HIGH/LOW) and Analog (0–5V) signals for versatile interfacing with microcontrollers like Arduino, ESP32, and Raspberry Pi.
-
Adjustable Sensitivity: Features a built-in blue potentiometer to set the exact moisture threshold for digital triggering.
-
Real-Time Indicators: Integrated Power LED and Digital Output status LED provide instant visual confirmation of the module’s state.
-
Corrosion Resistant: The probe is treated with nickel plating to resist oxidation and extend the sensor’s lifespan in damp soil.
-
Easy Installation: Designed with a fixed bolt hole for secure mounting in project housings or greenhouse setups.

How It Works
The sensor uses two exposed conductive pads to act as a variable resistor.
-
Dry Soil: High resistance results in a high voltage output on the digital pin.
-
Wet Soil: Increased conductivity (lower resistance) pulls the digital output low.
-
Adjustment: Rotate the potentiometer clockwise to increase sensitivity (triggers at lower moisture levels) or counter-clockwise to decrease it.
