Description
Teaches the fundamental concept of an open circuit and how water acts as a conductor to complete the circuit.
Features an integrated buzzer for an audible siren and an LED for a visual warning signal when rain is detected.
Includes a sturdy, laser-cut wooden base made from eco-friendly plywood, ensuring a durable and professional finish.
Comes with all necessary electronic parts, including a battery pack, PCB board, resistors, transistors, and a light-dependent resistor (LDR) for expanded circuit experimentation.
Designed for easy construction with clear contact points using copper conductive strips, making it accessible for beginners.
The circuit consists of the following parts, shown in the component layout:
-
Battery Pack: A plastic housing designed to hold AA batteries with pre-soldered red and black lead wires.
-
PCB (Printed Circuit Board): A green board used to mount and solder the smaller electronic components.
-
Active Buzzer: A black cylindrical component that produces the audible alarm sound.
-
Red LED: A light-emitting diode that provides a visual signal when the circuit is completed.
-
Transistors: Two small three-pin components used to amplify the signal from the water sensor.
-
Resistors: Two color-coded resistors are used to limit current and protect the LED and transistors.
-
Potentiometer (Blue/White): A variable resistor used to adjust the sensitivity of the rain sensor.
-
Photoresistor (LDR): A light-dependent resistor included for expanded experiments in light-sensing.
-
Connecting Wires: Red and black insulated wires to bridge the sensor to the main control board.
-
Pin Headers: Small black connectors for mounting components to the PCB.
